In 1908 it was felt a school was needed, as the district was well settled and much of the land was under cultivation. Clay Hill S. D. was located 12 miles west of Moose Jaw on old Number 1 highway. The school was built on the NW corner of NW 33-16-28. Of all the names suggested, it was called Clay Hill after a town in England called Claymore where Mr. Adams lived. One and a half acres were purchased for $30 per acre in June. Mr. Wm. Miller's tender was accepted. The price was $1506.The school opened Aug. 23, 1909. The school closed in 1951 but re-opened again in 1956. The school closed forever June 1962. In 1963 it was sold to Bill Anderson and moved to his farm SW of Caron.
