One Riverside is a new building that, as its name implies, occupies a site beside the River Roch and in close proximity to the Rochdale Transport Interchange. 



The building is home to Rochdale City Council and it provides office space for 1,700 staff that were previously located in diverse sites across the borough.   The council website explains that it is a multi-use public building which consolidates numerous council buildings into one.  The building includes:office space for other organisations and private businesses, a cafe and a restaurant that will open in the near future.



Stephen Pressman of the Rochdale Development Agency is quoted as saying that the architects, FaulknerBrown have, “… created a design solution that has certainly succeeded in meeting Rochdale Council’s exacting brief for a great looking and energy efficient building that would create an excellent working environment.”
