The Sir Charles Groves Hall of Residence is located on Booth Street West at the corner with Higher Cambridge Street.  It is operated by Liberty Living for Students and it offers 316 study bedrooms and 284 studio apartments. 


The building is named in honour of the eminent conductor Sir Charles Groves who during his career was associated with, among others, the Bournmouth Symphony Orchestra, the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.  He chaired the Council of the Royal Northern College of Music between 1973 and 1990 and was made a Companion of the College.
