Flour & Flagon - Grosvenor Street

The Flour and Flagon says that it is,  "... the pub you have been waiting for! We are the go-to place for the type of person that won’t settle for second best, and just wants a bit of honesty from their pub."

Previously this pub was known as Pub/Zoo

The Pub / Zoo described itself as, "... is two great places in one. The Pub is situated on Grosvenor Street in the student-orientated ‘Southern Quarter’ of Manchester, .....

.....while Zoo is around the corner on Sidney Street. The Pub is a cosy, eclectic venue, with a mix of students and locals alike."

This may be a pub now but the building has an industrial appearance, and in fact, it was once the home of Duncan and Foster's Bakery with the Grosvenor Street block being the office with the bakery and garages behind.  If you follow THIS LINK you can see an image of the building in 1973.

The building is much older than that though.  You can see it, indicated by the red arrow, in the aerial photograph below taken on July 2, 1953.

The following images were taken in 2008 before the current paint job was done.
