Manchester School of Art - Manchester Metropolitan University

The Manchester School of Art is part of the Faculty of Art and Design at the Manchester Metropolitan University.  One of its former students was L. S. Lowry and his teacher was Adolph Valet.  The building above was designed by G. T. Redmayne and built in 1880.

At the back is a red brick extension with orange terracotta dated 1897 and designed by J. Gibbons Sankey.  Inside there are three top lit studios / exhibition halls.

The terracotta angels and the head below were created by William James Neatby, the head of the Architectural Department at Doulton's.

Here is a glimpse of the inside.
