Constance Street & Jordan Street



The block of buildings bound by Little Peter Street, Jordan Street, Commercial Street and Constance in Knott Mill is today home to a mixture of residential and commercial property.  It appears that for much of the last century this was also the case.  The map below, which is my version of one dated 1928, shows that it included a number of factories, a corn mill and two rows of terraced houses.  The image above shows the view along what was Greaves Street and is now Constance.



The image below taken in 1953 shows that at least one row of those houses was still in place.
