The Prince's Building

There are a number of striking building in Oxford Street, but when you glance down the street from St. Peter's Square, none catch the eye more than the Prince's Building and its row of 9 chimney stacks connected by semicircular parapets. All that is left of the original building is this dramatic terracotta facade with art nouveau decoration, as you can see from this view from the back of the building.

Apparently the building had a beautiful art nouveau front door but it was stolen. The original building was designed by I. R. E. Birkett in 1903 and rebuilt in the 1987 by Leach Rhodes Walker as luxury apartments.
