12 Mosley Street

Today 12 Mosley Street is a branch of Lloyd's Bank.  None of the architectural references include this building.  Clearly they think it unimportant.  A map dated 1886 says little about its function other than the criptic comment, "Wines Various".

The buildng is three bays wide on Mosley Street and two bays deep on Marble Street.  Clearly a newer building has been added behind on Marble Street and a two storey attic has been added.  Photographs of the building taken in the 1970s show the Mosley Street facade obscured by a huge sign for Mother's Pride Bread.  However, it also showed that this attic is a new addition.  In those days the main occupant of the building was Mary Wright and there were two shops at street level.
