84 - 86 King Street

Dwarfed by the Ship Canal House number 84 to 86 King Street was designed by Richard Lane, the architect of the Friend's Meeting House on Mount Street.  It was built in 1842 for the Manchester & Salford Savings Bank.  The arcaded ground floor was actually added in 1904 by Charles Heathcote.  Today the ground floor is an Armarni shop and judging by the logos in the windows the upper floors belong to the Allied Irish Bank.
