However, its main claim to fame is that in 1929 this rather grand art deco frontage was added to what had been S. P. Hart's general warehouse during its conversion into one of the first Marks and Spencer stores in the country.  It was just four doors away from one of their Marks and Spencer Penny Bazaars.
