18 - 20 Oldham Street
In February 2011, when
the image above was taken, 18 Oldham Street, on the
corner of Oldham Street and Dale Street, is occupied
by "Vinyl Exchange". Number 20, in the same
building is home to Fat City Records. If you
click on the link below you can see the building in
1967, when it was home to "Weaver to Wearer" and other
shops. Clearly the building we see today is only
a portion of the original. Today there are only
5 windows on Oldham Street while there were 11 in
1967.

Oldham Street - 1967
In 1886 the building was home to the tailors Beaty Brothers and upstairs there was a concert hall. Beaty Brothers were a
prominent clothing retailer in Manchester at that time
and they also had a shop on the corner of Market
Street and Market Place.
