This block of CWS
buildings is bounded by Hanover Street, Danzig Street,
Mayes Street and Refern Street. On the Hanover
Street end of the block is Holyoake Housed designed by
F. E. L. Harris in 1911.
 It is
described as being a Baroque design in blue-green
with cream faince cladding.
   ******************* At the Mayes Street
end of the block is the Art Deco Redfern Building, a
twin for the Danzig Building. The Redfern
Building was designed by W. A. Johnson and J. W.
Cropper and built in 1936. The style is
described as Dutch brick modernism.
