Albert Bridge House, Bridge Street

Built as a tax office in 1958 - 59, Albert Bridge House stands appropriately next to the Albert Bridge taking Bridge Street over the Irwell into Salford.

The architect was E. H. Banks of the Ministry of Works.  Pevsner says of it, "Set back from and at an angle to the street, which adds to its gravitas....The high block has concete framing and Portland stone cladding, channelled to give texture."
