Swan Buildings Swan Buildings forms a
block bounded by Oldham Road, Cable Street, Cross Keys
and Swan Street. The ornate entrance into the
centre of the block stands within a row of very ordinary
small businesses premises on Swan Street, as you can see
above.
 Below you can see a
plan of Swan Buildings in 1888 when the building
along the Cable Street side was occupied by various
furniture and linoleum warehouses. If you look
carefully at the picture above you will see that the
take-in doors in the two towers have been replaced
by windows.
 The building on the Swan Street - Oldham Road corner is still a bank in 2009.    Close Window |
