Standing on the corner of Miller Street and Corporation Street and looking very much like a high street bank is Parkers Apartments. Built in 1906 by Bradshaw and Gass it started out as the Head Office of the Cooperative Insurance Society and later became Parkers Hotel. It is built of red brick and Portland stone and has a copper dome. A large modern extension runs along Corporation Street offering modern apartments close to Victoria Station, the entertainment offered by the Printworks and shopping in Exchange Square. In Novmber 2009 a
private medical centre is accommodated in the
building with its entrance at the corner of Miller
Street and Corporation Street.
