and Ovale, Ancoats![]() The Albion Mill, above,
forms part of this complex This redeveloped 19th
Century mill is described by the developers as follows,
"The
offices
within Albion Mill feature all the technology that a
21st century company requires whilst being set in the
grandeur of a late 19th century mill. Amenities
include ability to fit air conditioning, broadband
cabling and fully wired suites, VDU compliant and
feature lighting to all office areas, male, female and
disabled toilets on each floor, flexible floor plans

modern residential blocks. The most prominent of
these is the Ovale, a spherical glass shell with a
central void. The building, designed by the
architect Andrew Wallace, contains 36 apartments.

a branch canal encircling the other three sides.
Sitting on the island was the cotton mill owned by J.
