New
Islington Metrolink Station The New Islington Metrolink Station
sits between the Ashton Canal and Pollard Street with
the Chips and Milliner's Wharf apartment buildings as
neighbours. It is a stop on the East Manchester
Metrolink Line that opened in February of 2013.
   To connect East Manchester with Piccadilly Station it was necessary to cross Great Ancoat Street. This was achieved by building a tunnel beneath the road.  ********************* Below are a number of images of the construction phase for the tunnel and the station.  The images below were
