Chapeltown
Street Factory & Mills The new Metrolink
rail-line is heading out of the back of Piccadilly
Station on its way to Ashton. The line is
being laid beside Chapeltown Street through this
collection of old mills and factories.
    In 1851, as the map
below shows (shown with the consent of Chetham's
Library), two factories, a cotton mill and a foundary
occupied the site.
