Piccadilly Village
The Piccadilly Village
community is arranged around the Ashton Canal between
Great Ancoats Street and Ducie Street. It was
built between 1990 and 1994 to a design by Moran
Holdings and Trafford Park Estates. John J.
Parkinson-Bailey, in "Manchester - An Architectural
History" describes the development as "125
houses, fifteen craft studios, six shops, 16,000 ft2
of offices and a public house were erected on a
secure site overlooking the Ashton Canal
basin." I'm sure his description was
based on accurate research but I am yet to find the
public house.
