Boulton
House - Chorlton Street
Boulton House occupies
a site on Chorlton Street between Bloom Street and
Major Street. It was built in 1973 to a design
by E. Kirby & Son. John J.
Parkinson-Bailey describes it as "A modern interpretation
of a Victorian warehouse", which is
appropriate because Boulton House was built to replace
just such a building. Ironically, the buildings
along that side of Chorlton Street survived the WWII
Blitz. I have shaded the site in red on the
aerial photograph below, dated 1953.
If you click on the links below you can see the building that sat on that site before Boulton House.
St Martins Property
Investments have recently undertaken a major
refurbishment of several floors of Boulton House to
provide what they describe as, "high quality office
space."
