Telephone House



Telephone House was designed by E. Norman Bailey & Partners and built between 1959 and 1961.  Today the site is occupied by the Cooperative Insurance Society.


In 1888 the site was occupied by a warehouse block as you can see in the sketch map below.



During the Manchester Blitz the building was destroyed and the site was cleared as you can see in this RAF aerial photograph.  The site is bounded by a red line.
