The Ferranti Building

A. Gibbon of the architectural practice of
Crickshank and Seward. Pevsner describes it
as, "A low three-storey reinforced concrete block,
with at the western end a High Voltage Laboratory, a
stark box clad in ribbed aluminium." On the
grass beside the building is a sculpture called "The
Insulator Family" composed of three high-voltage
ceramic insulators. It was supplied by Allied
Insulators of Stoke-on-Trent and installed in 1987.
