Building - The University of Manchester
![]() When it was completed in 1970, this
grey concrete building was home to the University of
Manchester's Architecture & Planning
Department. The severe concrete is softened by
an internal courtyard.
![]() The University's website indicates that today the building is home to among others: the Architecture and Planning Department, the Brookes World Poverty Institute, the Cathie Marsh Centre for Census and Survey Research, the Cordingley Lecture Theatre (see below), ... ![]() ![]() ... the Kantorowich Library,
the Media Centre, and the Staff Training and
Development Unit.

there were proposals to link many of the buildings on
the campus by a high level walkway. There is
evidence of this in the image below. You can see
a concrete panel that covers the point where the
walkway would have been connected to the building.
