Williamson Building




The Williamson Building is located on Oxford Road at the corner with Brunswick Street.  The building is occupied by a number of University departments including:  Earth Sciences, Geology. GM Geological Unit, the Institute of Health Sciences, Law. National Primary Care Research and Development Centre and the University College Union




The building is named in honour of William Crawford Williamson who was appointed as Professor of Natural History at Manchester.  Williamson was an illustrious Victorian scientist who was friends with Darwin and Huxley.
