The Prince's Bridge

The Prince's Bridge used to carry Hampson Street across the River Irwell from Salford into Manchester.  Today the bridge is only open to pedestrians and cyclists because on the Salford side access is via a pedestrian ramp.  This bridge, designed by Stephenson, was built in 1830.  As the plaque on the bridge indicates it was "re-erected and re-opened to traffic" in 1905.
