The lock keeper's cottage sits beside Lock 92 of the Rochdale Canal at the point where it joins the Bridgewater Canal in Castlefield.

In the 1980s the building was used as Duke's Cafe and sold cream teas to visitors.  You can see a photograph of it by clicking the link below.
