Hotel sits across from the former Liverpool Road
Railway Station on the corner of Woollam Place.
Built in 1830 to provide accommodation to
travellers using the Liverpool to Manchester
Railway. Since Liverpool Road Station is
accepted as the oldest passenger railway station
in the World, the Commercial Hotel has a
legitimate claim to being the oldest railway hotel
in the World.
