The Salutation - Boundary Street

The Salutation pub website says this about itself, "Known as 'The Sally' to the regulars, it is one of the best traditional Victorian pubs in Manchester."

As the map extract below shows, The Salutation was on the corner of Boundary and Higher Chatham Streets as early as 1844.

On the Boundary Street side of the building you will find the Blue Plaque below.

Between 1851 and 1854 Charlotte Bronte returned to Manchester staying with her friend Elizabeth Gaskell at her house at 84 Plymouth Grove.
