Former District Bank - Every Street



This building sits on the corner of Every Street and Merrill Street in East Manchester.  It has a small car park in back and appears to be in use as an office of some description.  The clue to its former function can be found above the shuttered corner door.  The stone carved coat of arms bears the latin motto, "Decus Prudentia Merces" which translates as "A Reward and Honour to Prudence".  This is the coat of arms for the District Bank which merge into the Natwest in 1970.
