Digital World Centre

Over the years a complex of buildings has grown up around the Lowry Arts Centre.  The latest addition is the Digital World Centre.  The building has three components: a hi-tech fully glazed 8 storey block; a five storey digital "black box"; and a nine storey technology tower that links them.

In the "Milestones" document, produced by the Salford Quays, the Centre is described as follows:  "A concept that began life as a Virtual Reality Centre in partnership with Salford University, and undertaken as a joint venture between the Lowry Development Company and Charterhouse Property Group, the Digital World Centre was completed in 2004. It today provides an estimated 6,700sqm of specialist business accommodation. By combining first class facilities and the latest technology with high quality services, the centre is able to offer an exceptional working environment for growth orientated business start-ups and small to medium size enterprises"

The "findmeaconference.com" website says this about the Digital World Centre:  "UBC's Digital World Centre is at the cutting edge of design and specification. Located at Salford Quays, Greater Manchester's unique waterfront destination, where business and leisure combine to provide one of the most exciting developments in the UK.

Situated in the thriving commercial centre of the Quays, The Digital World Centre provides state of the art serviced offices. It also caters for all types of business meeting from one to one interview, board meeting, training session, sales presentation to product launch, with conference facilities including a tiered 100-seat auditorium, and exhibition space."
