Description
The Voss Cultural Centre occupies an enviable waterside location in Voss close to the city's railway station that links Voss to Oslo and Bergen. The architect's website explains that it provides a cinema with 280 seats, two theaters with 96 and 80 seats, a library, spaces for adult education, an exhibition space for art and culture, and a tourist information centre. The goal was to design a building that was both energy efficient and environmentally responsible. The idea was to provide a cultural/educational centre that served Voss and the surrounding area as well as those who come to the area to enjoy its outdoor attractions.
