This new building on the campus of the
University of Coventry occupies a site
beside the Herbert Gallery and Museum and
across from the Cathedral. The
University tells students that "The Hub",
" ... provides you
with the ideal environment for both study and
socialising. Throughout the day, the
space invites you to relax, meet up with
friends or study informally. In the
evening, the building becomes a vibrant venue where bars, 700-capacity club,
a cinema and performing arts space
deliver an excellent experience." The Hub is home to a variety of student services including: "Careers and Employability, Spirituality and Faith, a doctors’ surgery, Counselling, Welfare and Disabilities, a hairdressers and the Institute of Applied Entrepreneurship as well as the Coventry University Students’ Union and a food court." The building has an excellent BREEAM rating. Its environmental credentials eminate from a number of its features including: ground source cooling, natural ventilation, grey water harvesting, solar water heating, a green roof and an electronic building management system. |
