The Tele2Arena occupies a site
next door to Stockholm's famous Globe
stadium, one more element in a complex of
sporting venues in the city's Globus
District. The stadium is designed to
accommodate 30,000 fans for football games
and 45,000 for concerts. It is clad
with perforated metal panels and features a
retractable roof that can transform it from
an outdoor stadium into an indoor arena in
less than 20 minutes. Unusually, it is also
capable of adding an ice surface on the
stadium floor and thereby accommodate
ice hockey and other ice sports.
The arena's website describes itself as
one of the world's most modern
multi-venues, "... with free
wifi, 600 digital screens, Stadium
Vision technology , retractable
roof, transparent façade and only
six meters from the front row to the
sidelines. ... Here you (are)
closer to the experience when
Hammarby Soccer and Djurgården
Soccer play their home games. ...
Despite (its) young
age, Tele2 Arena has already been
visited by the likes of Avicii , The
Rolling Stones , Justin Timberlake ,
Aerosmith and Golden Times ."
In November of 2015 Madonna's
Rebel Heart Tour will be visiting the
Tele2Arena.
