Description
The Ramada Innsbruck Tivoli hotel occupies a site on Olympiastrasse across from the Olympic ice stadium.   With a basement, ground floor and 12 upper storeys it is one of the taller buildings in Innsbruck. The basement has an underground car park with 58 parking spaces, building-services rooms for heating, ventilation and air-conditioning, as well as emergency power, electric and battery rooms.

The developers Strauss & Partners say of the building that, "... Its innovative architectural design and modern technology combined with its ideal location make the structure a genuine highlight of the region.  The roughly 160 rooms meet even the highest of standards. .... The unusual design of this modern building lends it the appearance of an immense ship, with a spacious breakfast restaurant located on its upper deck, together with a lovely observation terrace that affords panoramic views of the surrounding mountains."

The World of PORR website gives an insight into the construction of the building.  "... In the middle of May 2010 construction work began on the Hotel Tivoli project. Because of the slanting structure it was necessary to secure the construction pit in the west section with the help of tension piles. Furthermore, floor slabs with a thickness of up to one metre were needed. Excavated material from the construction pit had to be secured with shotcrete on the side facing the road. The majority of the building shell was built using in-situ concrete; only the flights of stairs were prefabricated and delivered to the site."
