Lavington
Mansions is a residential property owned
and operated by the Peabody Group.
It sits adjacent to John Astor House in
Fitzrovia and occupies the site of a
former college of nursing. When it
opened in November of 2013, Peabody
announced that it was delivering
affordable homes to central London, "A residential
development of Peabody affordable
housing in the heart of London's West
End was offically unveiled on
Friday. Lavington Mansions
comprises 21 new affordable
homes, including six for shared
ownership, and forms part of The Crown
Estate's £1bn investment in the Regent
Street area. Located in Ogle
Street, Fitzrovia, a stone’s throw
from Oxford Circus, the development is
built on the site of a former school
of nursing and uses natural Portland
Stone from The Crown Estate’s Portland
Estate in Dorset." Apparently the
accommodation breaks down as follows:
Affordable Rent - 15 flats The architects say
on their website that, "... the
contemporary yet sympathetic
design enhances the conservation
area and offers homes of the
highest quality. .... Each of the
apartments are designed to provide
flexible living arrangements with
layouts that meet Lifetime Homes
Standards."
