Description
The La Tour Hotel occupies the corner of Masshouse Lane and Moor Street Queensway in the City Park Gate area of Birmingham's city centre.  The £24m hotel was one element of the Eastside regeneration scheme.  The roughly L-shaped building is home to a hotel that claims to offer, "... Luxurious bedrooms. Delicious food and drink. Five-star customer service. A floor specially engineered for conferences and events. Conveniently located in the heart of England's second city. "

The architects say of the project that, "... Our design played on the client’s black- and- white branding by splitting the bedroom blocks into the two colours. These twin blocks wrap around the triangular site perimeter, culminating in dramatic end elevations, with sharp towers.  A large entrance atrium is set between the two bedroom blocks, providing light, tall bar and restaurant areas. The front entrance is marked by a tall lantern, a dramatic arrival marker for guests."
