This 6 storey
office block sits beside the busy
Fjøsangerveien, the main approach into the
city of Bergen. The building is clad
in green glass and the flat roof features a
glass overhang. Employing a balanced
ventilation and heat recovery system, its
estimated energy use per square metre is 118
kWh, which puts it in energy Class B.
The architects say of it that, "Here
we got the opportunity to do something
different than what we usually do. It
was nice to draw a building with such
high quality. I think it's the first
time a building has ... surface mounted
lifts with rounded glass house in
Bergen. The glass façade is green, but
with blue sky looks blue ." Apparently offices, meeting rooms and public areas are decorated with paintings by Frans Widerberg and Andy Warhol and there are also sculptures by Nico Widerberg.  |
