Numbers 10
& 12 Hammersmith Grove is a mixed-use
development in the heart of
Hammersmith. It comprises 277,000 sq
ft of grade A office space, as well as
four new restaurants and an extensive new
public realm. Number 10 was completed in
summer 2013 providing 110,000 sq ft of
offices space. Number 12 was
completed 3 years later adding a further
167,000 sq ft of office space. The eye-catching
facade is a measure to improve thermal
performance. The architect's
website explains they used, "...
the latest glass coating and
fritting technology .... The
seamless skin reflects and cloaks
the building in an elegant
crystalline sheath. As well
as an efficient envelope, the use
of highly effective M&E
equipment, LED lighting and
roof-mounted solar panels will
contribute to the sustainable
credentials of the scheme."
They add that, "...
Given the central location of the
site, car parking is limited to 4
cars, and cycle parking provision
is exceptional, with 105 secure
spaces located close to the
building. Showers, lockers and
drying rooms are provided on the
ground floor, facilitating use of
the building by cyclists and
runners. Large,
flexible office floor plates on
upper floors have centralised
cores, which maximise the
potential for daylight penetration
into the buildings, and views out.
Landscaped terraces on upper
floors enjoy southerly views
towards the river and park lands
beyond."
