Description
Designed by the Spanish architect Jose Maria Herrera Garcia, the Museo de la Almoina offers visitors access to the remains of Roman Valencia that sit just below the surface of today's city.  A shallow glass-bottomed pool outside of the museum offers a tempting glimpse of the archeological structures below.  In fact, the museum offers visitors an opportunity to see the entire development of the city from Roman times through the Islamic and Christian Middle Ages.

Inside

An elevated pathway carries the visitor around, through and over the remnants of streets, residential and sacred buildings, public baths, fortifications and burial sites.
