Description |
|
Inn
the Park is a self-service cafe and
formal restaurant set into a landscaped
hill beside an ornamental lake in St.
James's Park. The building was
constructed using Austrian Larch that
was left untreated on the external
surfaces so that it would gradually
weather. Inside, the wood has been
oiled so that it retains its rich
colour. The building undulates,
mirroring the passing footpaths, and
matches the outline of the lake.
Customers enjoy an indoor eating area,
as well as a covered porch and a fixed
bench that runs along the lakeside edge
of the building. The staff areas are built into the landscaped hill behind the building. |
