| Description |
|
| The Glass Building, on
Jamestown Road in Camden, is a mixed
residential and retail
development. In all it features 24
shell sale apartments, 8 affordable
apartments, a restaurant and retail
spaces at street level. The
architects, CZWG, say on their website
that, "In a street of buildings
historically related to storage and
manufacture, this scheme celebrates
these former uses with a series of
big interlocking drums of differing
heights." Since the
glazing on each successive floor is
setback slightly, they say that this
gives, " ... the effect of small
telescopic gasometers."
The total value of the project is listed
as £3.5m. |
