Description
This is one of three buildings entitled Furore A to C located next door to each other on Eerste Constantijn Huygensstraat.  This building is home to Mentrum, an adult psychiatric facility.  Your eye is attracted to the building from some distance away by the sculpture that adorns the front.  It features a person standing out over the street atop a series of ladders.  Created by the Russian American artists Ilya and Emilia Kabakov, it is entiteld "How to Meet an Angel".

The SKOR.NL website explains that, " How to Meet an Angel portrays a man who has climbed a ladder. He stands with widespread arms on the top rung, ready to leave the clinic, to embrace the city, and perhaps meet a guardian angel. The sculpture was designed free of charge by Ilya and Emilia Kabakov at the request of Mentrum, and was developed and supported by SKOR | Foundation for Art and the Public Domain. The artwork was specially made for Mentrum’s new psychiatric clinic on the Eerste Constantijn Huygensstraat in Amsterdam."

When I took a photograph of the man on the ladder in 2015, he had company because a crow was perching on his hand.
