Description
This building beside the River Mersey at King's Dock is home to the 10,000 seat Echo Arena and a Convention Centre that has a 1,350 seat auditorium and a 7,500 square metre exhibition space. The architects, Wilkinson Eyre, say of the brief that it, "demanded architecture of the highest quality, due to a historic setting next to Albert Dock and adjacent to the World Heritage Site on the Mersey riverfront. The development has an iconic status, defining Liverpool’s regenerated waterfront with a landmark structure which unifies the building’s varied functions in a single distinctive form."
