This building was
Eric Parry Architects submission to a
limited invitational competition to
develop proposals for the redevelopment
of the site of the former London Stock
Exchange building at 60 Threadneedle
Street. They say that, "....
The new ten-storey 325,000 ft²
office building incorporates a new
public pedestrian passageway with
retail frontage across the site,
provides a visual and physical
connection between neighbouring
streets, enhancing the public realm
and townscape setting."
The dramatic public sculpture,
"The City Wing" is a feature of the
public space. This 38 foot high
painted bronze sculpture is a creation
of the sculpture Christopher Le Brun.
![]() The 60 Threadneedle
Street website describes the building as
posessing "Effortless Style",
addng that it, "... is the
perfect addition to a classic
location. Timeless design respect
and historic context and delivers
flexible efficient office space. An
innovative approach to
sustainability anticipates the
requirements of the future. ... A
range of measures combine to
minimise 60 Threadneedle Street’s
impact on the environment, and
consequently to achieve and
Excellent BREEAM rating. "
