Description |
|
25 Gresham Street is the London headquarter
of the Lloyds Banking Group. The 10
storey column-free building features one
floor of roof-plant and a basement level
that accommodates a restaurant, storage and
car park. The architect's
website explains that the, "... Accommodation
is arranged around the atrium and a
service core within the northern
half of the building’s footprint.
The building is sensitive to its
urban site, reconciling the scale of
the contemporary buildings along
London Wall to those along Victorian
Gresham Street.
Much attention has been given to the
finer architectural details. The
facades combine glazing from desk
level up to 2.2m above finished
floor level with 30mm thick panels
of flame-textured Broughton Moor
slate. These are overlapped
vertically which refer to the
stepped terraces of the atrium."
