Description
|
This amazing transmission tower is
composed of three concrete pillars clad in
steel. Clustered around the top of these
pillars are nine pods and three decks which
support transmitting equipment. The
tallest of the pillars acts as a transmission
mast. The upper pods contain transmission
equipment while the lower ones are observation
decks for visitors and include a
restaurant/bar.
Without question the feature that adds further
interest to this unusual tower is the collection
of sculptural babies, by the artist
David Čern, that are scaling the tower.
Apparently the babies were added as a temporary
exhibit in 2000 but came back in 2001 by popular
demand.
