The Birmingham Pevsner dismisses the Hyatt Regency Hotel as, "A twenty-five-storey mirror glass slab, pure commercial American."  The hotel describes itself as, "One of the best situated hotels in Birmingham city centre, ... a modern, 4 star hotel that enjoys a prime central location. Our luxury Birmingham hotel is just five minutes' walk from the exclusive Mailbox and Bull Ring shopping centres, as well as Broad Street and Brindley Place ... The hotel's 319 luxury rooms and suites, including the exclusive Presidential Suite, all have floor-to-ceiling windows that command breathtaking views of the canal network or the city."  It sits across Broad Street from the International Convention Centre and is connected to it by a private bridge.
