1990
Location
St. Stephen's Square
Description
The Haas-Haus is a mixed-use building containing a hotel, a restaurant, a café, and a sales room for an international fashion chain. It was one of the most controversial building in Vienna because introducing a modern concrete and glass structure opposite Saint Stephen's Cathedral did not go down well with the Viennese population.

However, today the "About Vienna.org" describes it as,
"one of the most exciting buildings in Vienna and the city's pride. The square of St. Stephen's Cathedral is opened up by the glass facade. Images of St. Stephen's Cathedral reflected by the straight glass facade of Haas House are a popular motif.  The interior was designed with attention to detail. At the top you can enjoy a spectacular view of St. Stephen's Cathedral at a beautiful coffee shop and restaurant."
