Description
The Euskalduna Palace is a large multifunctional complex located in the redeveloped former shipyards in central Bilbao. The building's website points out that it. "... hosts many activities of an economic-business, academic, political, institutional, social and cultural nature. The ABAO Opera Season, one of the most important and prestigious in the State and Europe, is also taking place, and Bilbao Orkestra Sinfonikoa (BOS), its magnificent musical institution, founded in 1920, which gave its first concert in 1922. The building combines the spaces dedicated to the activities of meetings and shows (Auditorium, congress and meeting rooms, meeting rooms, offices, foyers and a splendid Exhibition Hall) with the service areas (including) warehouses, changing rooms, dressing rooms, rehearsal rooms etc." According to its Wikipedia page the building contains: "An auditorium, with 2,164 seats, it is used for opera productions by the ABAO (Asociación Bilbaína de Amigos de la Ópera / The Bilbao Association of Friends of Opera) and by the Bilbao Symphony Orchestra. It has the largest stage of any theatre in Europe with 1,770 sq. metres. A theatre with 614 seats. Is the most important place and is destined to several meetings and events. It has direct access to the Exhibition Hall and has excellent acoustics. Due to this excellent acoustic, this room can hosts different performances and musical events.
