Description |
Eland House
is home to the Department for
Communities and Local Government.
Its
shape is unusual for London but the
building is very similar to the Great
North Tower in Manchester.
The building is 59 metres high
incorporating 11 storeys. It also
has a pinacle that reaches up to 80.55
metres. The designers, EPR
Architects, say that, "Eland
House was a very sophisticated
‘green’ building and even today remains at
the forefront of innovative
environmental design." It
features a cogeneration plant and active
solar panels. |
